Building Internal Relationships

What do we focus on when we want to grow within our industries?  What do you focus on as a HR Mgr, Team Leader, or Supervisor within your firm, or company?  

These are very serious questions, to most leaders they focus only on the product, or service with little regards for the individuals who drives or put in place those functions.

 With so much automation we wonder why we are loosing the value of internal relationships with in the company.  Customer service is done within as well as without.  We are nothing without whom we work together to build, and we must continue to value those relationships, even with automation.  

So a few things to keep in mind:

1.  Listen; this simple step has so many ways of being heard.  Don't just put up a comment box and do not reply to those concerns.  Find strategies to listen to your internal customers, (your staff)  You value social media, while your own team is not valued.  BE REAL.

2.  Follow Through:  Deliver on your word.  Keep in mind it is do as I do, not just do as I say, you want your team to value you, then value them.  HR, is not the only responsible source for building a valuable team, as a leader within your department each one is accountable for making a productive internal relationship.  

3.  Demonstrate:  Show your appreciation, it is easier than it sounds.  Money of course is not the only way to show how much you value your team.  Find strategies of appreciation that answers the questions that were given.  Remember to make it about them and not about you as the leader.

These are only a few ideas, I do hope you continue to build great internal relationships within your organization, company, or firm.
